Sure-Fire Tips for Reunion Fun
So, you're nervous about your upcoming reunion, and why wouldn't
you be? You haven't seen these people in years! No need to worry. Go through
our five point check list for some tips and tricks to have a good time
at your reunion, guaranteed.
Have some good jokes to tell.
A handful of jokes may come in handy when you find yourself in a conversational
lull with your old lab partner. It may seem a bit cheeky, but everyone
loves a good joke so pack a few zingers with you. NOTE: off-color jokes
are not your best bet. Keep it in the middle of the road.
Have your address book handy.
Keeping in touch with old friends after the reunion is one way to keep
the party going. The information you get now will make the next reunion
even better because you'll know how to reach everyone. (You can even organize
your own mini-reunion!)
Ask questions.
No one likes person who can only talk about themselves. Have questions
in mind: Do they have kids? How are their parents? Did they ever climb
Mount Everest like they wanted to do in school?
Be yourself.
Reunions are traditionally the place where people try to impress one another
and embellish the truth. You'll find that if you're honest, others will
be too. Then you can get past the "Impress Me" act and catch up with the
person they truly are.
Don't limit yourself by only talking to your old gang.
Talk to everyone, even the one person you wouldn't dare talk to in school.
You never know, the person you hated might become your best friend, or
the nerd you never spoke to may just help you get a new job. And who knows?
